POP’S TRANSFORMATION

POP (Phoenix Oasis Press LLC) is undergoing a transformation: new team, new vision, new mission, new logo, and new ways to support and spotlight Arizona writers.  Watch for details in early September.

In the meantime, we’re looking for champions.

WRITERS HELPING WRITERS: WHAT’S A CHAMPION?

  • A person who fights or argues for a cause or on behalf of someone else.

  • A person who supports something (in our case, a writer who’s willing to help other writers).

THINK ABOUT BECOMING A CHAMPION – Ask yourself

  • What ideas and resources have helped me on my writer’s journey?

  • What ideas am I passionate about sharing with others?

  • What writing-related topics do I want to explore?

Use your answers to explore HOW you might share those things with the POP writing community. A few examples:

  1. Volunteer for the POP advisory team (attend our monthly Zoom meetings).

  2. Create and deliver a one-hour writing workshop (on-line or in person).

  3. Partner with another writer to create and deliver a short writing workshop.

  4. Write a POP guest blog post.  Not sure what to write about?  Ideas include (but aren’t limited to):

  •  The craft of writing.

  • The business of being a writer.

  • Lessons you’ve learned along your writer’s journey.

  • Writing resources that you’ve found useful.

  • Review a writing-related resource (a book, a website, a blog, etc...)

  • Essential books for writers (titles, topics, and reasons to read them).

  • A writing-related problem and solution.
